What is the advantage of block acrylic letters over built up letters?
block acrylic letters and built up letters are two different types of letters used in signs. block acrylic letters with a construction depth of 20 to 40 mm have a smooth and even surface that offers a modern and high-quality appearance. They offer a clean and clear display of letters and logos, especially with intricate lettering or detailed logos. In addition, block acrylic letters offer a high degree of design flexibility and allow creative solutions for different signage requirements.
How long do block acrylic letters usually last?
As the name suggests, our solid acrylic letters are milled from a solid block of acrylic glass. Acrylic glass is UV-resistant and ideally suited for outdoor use. The durability is therefore no different from that of classic built up letters. Only the LED illumination, which is installed and encapsulated in the acrylic glass, does not achieve the service life of LED modules installed in built up letters due to the resulting increased thermal load. However,
typoLITE® letters are among the most reliable products on the market in terms of the service life of the LED modules installed. This is confirmed time and again by our customers.
Can LED modules be replaced?
As with other products of this type, the LED modules in our typoLITE® block acrylic letters are encapsulated in the acrylic glass with a silicone-based casting resin. This technology means that the LED modules can be removed at our factory and replaced with new modules.
